A record number of 2,529 people registered for this event last year, and we are expecting another record breaking crowd this year.

The 15TH Annual (Flyin’ High) Center for Educational Advancement/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot 5 K Run and 2 Mile Fitness Walk took flight on Thanksgiving Day November 22, 2007 in Flemington, NJ.
“After some fog it was sunny and warm, by far one of the nicest days we have had since we started this event in 1993”. Said Race Director Michael Skoczek. A far greater than expected crowd of runners and walkers gathered in Flemington, NJ, some arriving earlier than 6:30 AM. New registration records were set with 471 runners and 94 walkers registering on Thanksgiving Day, which gave a total registration of 2399 runners and 654 walkers for a total of 3,053, far eclipsing last years record of 2529. (2143 runners had scored through 48:16 final official results can be found at compuscore.com.)
Nick Ricco from Annandale won the event in a time of 15:26. Ricco is a repeat winner who also won in 2005.
Elizabeth Wort of Califon, won the Women’s Open Title & broke the course record in 16:23, previously held by Ann Marie Letko.
First place honors in the Men’s Masters Division went to Jeremy Stratton of Parlin in a time of 16:40. The Woman’s Master’s title went to Elizabeth Ludwigson, in a time of 20:14 (Elizabeth previously won the Womens Open in 1994)
In the Team competition: 1st Place Men’s went to The Cranberry Sauce & Mashed Potatoes Team , 1st Place Women’s went to the Mc CHICKS, and 1st Place Coeds went to the Pumpkin Heads. Masters Team Awards went to Men-The Roaring Beasts, Women-HunterdonCounty Adventure Boot Camp, and Coed: The Asshaulers.
The Turkey Trot raffle first place winner for a 42” Toshiba Flat Screen LCD TV winner was Edria Hagios.
Participants came to Flemington from 24 states plus Washington DC, and as far away as Sweden and Japan. The Turkey Trot has become one of the largest participatory sporting event in Central New Jersey.
Michael Skoczek Race Director & President & CEO said “The response from the Turkey Trot runners and walkers continues to be amazing. We have had record registration with each successive Turkey Trot, and this year was no exception, surpassing even our optimistic projections. I’m so happy that so many people are coming out with their families to support this great event, and the Center for Educational Advancement. I would like to especially thank all of our sponsors and the many volunteers who come out on their holiday to help us have a safe, enjoyable and healthy start to Thanksgiving. Without them working weeks before and on Thanksgiving Day itself there would be no Turkey Trot.”
